Remember, these fellows are the same people who brought you the twin turbo Supra in the early 90's, and that car kicked much booty. Ever since they have been focusing on luxury, something that apparently has not been making Toyota all that much profit. This year was the first year in something like 40 that they have not made a profit here in the U.S. I find that hard to believe with the average time on the lot of a Prius being 2 hours. In any case it is nice to see Toyota focusing on performance with this supercar, the LFA and while I don't see a Toyota V10 being in everyone's garage I am sure a lot of the technology will trickle down to maybe a new sports car or high performance luxury sedan. Would love to see a high output V8 2 door Lexus or Toyota.
I drove the twin turbo Supra back in the day and it was a short but amazing ride. The torque was ridiculous and pulled harder than the twin turbo Nissan Z I drove that same year. Of course I was 17 and didn't really know how to drive but I do remember gaining a bit of respect for horse power from those two cars. Makes me want to take this new Lexus out for a spin.
