I am a lucky guy.
On July 3rd I asked my girlfriend Jennie to marry me. I borrowed my mothers fancy Infinity for the afternoon for her to drive as she has always been a fan of that car. Of course this was a distraction and a way to get her to drive up this windy road near her house to a park we frequent that overlooks Manhattan.
There is a newly constructed gazebo up there and to my surprise there was nobody in it. We hung out for a good 40 minutes or so and watched some clouds roll in. This was her right before she had any clue of what was happening.
Notice the ring finger. :)
I said something to the effect of "I know you don't want to bring the car back just yet but maybe this will hold you over until the next time we can borrow it". I took the box out of my pocket and handed it to her but did not want to get down on one knee until she opened it, so she STILL didn't really know what was happening. I think she thought it was a joke gift or something because she opened the box then turned it upside down into her palm to get the ring box out! I was smiling but inside I was freaking out excited. Her handling of the box proved to me she had no idea what was happening so I am glad I waited to get down on one knee. Once she saw that it was a ring box that was inside the cardboard box she slowly started to figure it out and as soon as she opened it I got down on the knee and said a few words and asked her. She was as happy as I imagined and hoped her to be.
Here is a picture of literally 30 seconds after and 35 seconds after.
I am not too much of a mushy person but Jennie brings out the best in me. I have never met anyone kinder and will be proud and honored to call her my wife.
Okay enough of that...
Now make me some eggs bitch.
(I am so getting hurt for that one... and I don't even like eggs)
The next night we went to the Montclair fireworks, just me and her.

Rest of the photos below. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! The text messages and voice mails and phone calls, online comments and e mails and all the other ways of communicating, have made us both smile. Drew, thanks for the telegraph.
*UPDATE*
My friend Andi informed me that other girls who read the blog want to see pictures of the ring, in an almost :"what is wrong with you " manor. I am sorry, I am new at this. :)
Here are a couple of shots of the ring.
